Pinter & Martin to publish Sheila Kitzinger autobiography
Pinter & Martin is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Sheila Kitzinger’s as yet untitled autobiography, scheduled for publication in the autumn of 2014.Sheila Kitzinger is one of the world’s best loved natural childbirth activists and best-selling author of The New Pregnancy & Childbirth. Kitzinger’s candid autobiography will recount her extraordinary life from her childhood, with a mother who was a feminist before the term was invented, her student days in Oxford to her pioneering work in anthropology and tireless campaigning for women’s rights and improvement in maternity services, working closely with her daughters on empowering women in the major transitions of life as well as her frustrations and personal tragedies.
Pinter & Martin picked up world English and translation rights. Managing director Martin Wagner says: “This acquisition cements Pinter & Martin’s reputation as the UK’s leading independent publishing company in the field of natural childbirth.”
Sheila Kitzinger’s last book, Birth & Sex, was published by Pinter & Martin in 2012.
